What generation are you? I run with the Gen Y, or Millenniums. Are you an X or a Boomer? Do you not fit in the tiny spaces? Here is my real question: Why (why!) when I think the word 'generation' do I get this visual? Please, someone solve this neurological mystery.
Also, what do you think about this uber-duber great generation? And don't say you think it's silly to chunk these groups together and generalize the hell out of them, because we're agreeing right here and now that in this case it's excusable.
What does Y look like? Well, when I go to the library during the day to get my David Sedaris books on tape I am mingling with more and more stay at home dad's and we all know words such as LOL and WTF. Then there is the obvious like Middle Eastern uprisings organized through social media.
Guys from my generation are so radically different from Xers and Boomers (Xoomers?) and that is, in my opinion, because the women of Y are innate feminists. We were not girls who fantasized about getting a career in a male dominated field . Unlike our mothers, who had to "go back to work", we would be career careerists.
What do you think? Did you read Goosebumps or Babysitters Club? How did your voice sound when you recorded "Just Can't Wait to be King" on your boombox? Is your spouse a good sharer?

I am a Y as well. My voice sounded like a nine year old boy who really couldn't wait to be king, although the tape deck I was recording with was a bit outdated for the task. I think generation Y has made some incredible progress in social organization and gender equality. That said we are a long way from being gender equal and unlike in the recent past I think a lot of men would agree…. besides, you can only ignore statistics for so long before you have to accept what they are telling you.
Did you see that they launched a new Pepsi commercial last night. It ended with this photo of Brittany Spears. Funny timing..
